LODGING SAN JUAN DEL SUR
Morgan's Rock
US$180.00 per person per night. Includes all meals, taxes and service charge.
A unique and natural haven for the traveler looking for a touch of luxury while enjoying the adventure and excitement of an exotic and tropical destination. The property supports nature conservation, community development and reforestation projects. There are 15 bungalows with a king size bed, a sofa bed and private deck. The architect used mainly local materials and the wooden furniture was custom made by local artisans. All rooms face west, where dramatic sunsets disappear into the Pacific Ocean. The surrounding forest adds privacy and peace to each unit. Most bungalows sit on a cliff overlooking the private bay and estuary.

Morgan’s Rock is an ideal extension to your vacation in Costa Rica since it can be easily reached by air or ground transport. The hacienda is located within easy driving distance from southern Nicaragua's most prominent tourist attractions: the colonial town of Granada, the “Pueblos Blancos” handicrafts markets, Masaya Volcano National Park, Lake Nicaragua and the scenic Ometepe Island in Lake Nicaragua, with two volcanoes on one island. Morgan’s is also a conservation, community development and reforestation project. Tel. 011-506-257-0766 (in Costa Rica). Fax. 1-800-886-2609 (in the US).

Piedras y Olas Hotel & Resort
US$115.00 for two people in a "sea view" room.* Full breakfast included. Taxes not included (15%).
Overlooking the bay of San Juan del Sur, Hotel Piedras y Olas has seven guest rooms and ten bungalows. The guest rooms have one queen and one king bed, hot water showers, direct TV, DVD player and air conditioning.

The bungalows are on a hill behind the hotel's restaurant, accessible by long, outdoor staircases. The bungalows, which cost about $50.00 more than the rooms (per night), are fully air-conditioned, with hot water showers, direct TV and DVD player. On the lower level there is a fully equipped kitchen, and the living and dining rooms. The room and bedding distribution is a little unusual, with one room downstairs (with a king-sized bed) and one room upstairs (with two queen-sized beds).

The restaurant and bar have a sweeping view of the bay. Food is very good and daily specials are offered in addition to the a la carte menu. There is currently a small infinity pool on the restaurant terrace. Tel. +505-568-2110 and fax. +505-568-2511 (dial 011 if calling from the US).
