Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica Lodge | Amazon, Peru
The experience at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica Lodge
Journey to the Amazon Basin of Peru and experience the Tambopata National Reserve, an area known for its mega biodiversity as well as its magnificent natural landscapes. Accompanied by an expert Amazon guide and naturalist, walk below ancient forest canopies, observe swinging monkeys, and spot exotic birds and insects. Between excursions, relax to the sounds of the jungle. A motorized canoe ride will take you down the Madre de Dios River, a major tributary of the Amazon river, to Reserva Amazonica Lodge. Here, guests enjoy a delightful combination of simplicity and luxury. Lantern-lit, palm-thatched cabañas, are appointed with comfortable beds swathed in mosquito netting, log chairs, and a spacious siesta porch with hammocks.
The richness of the Amazon Basin creates a spectacular scenario for bird watching and other eco-friendly activities. Some 590 different bird species, including toucans, tanagers, flycatchers and colorful macaws, have been sighted around the reserve. Due to the region’s tropical climate it is common to observe exotic insects as well.
Inspired by the tropical flavors of the Amazon region, meals and drinks at the Reserva Amazonica are prepared with fresh local ingredients. All meals include a variety of proteins, salads and fruits, as well as a selection of homemade breads. Vegetarian meals and a children’s menu are available, upon request. Meals are served in the main dining room, where you can also enjoy complete bar service.
